Saturday at 11:50 in the morning, the moon goes dark at seventeen degrees of Libra.
It is the start of a cycle, in the sign of the scales, and the planet that runs that sign has been moving backward since last Saturday. A fresh start whose own ruler is in reverse.

The calendar is telling you to count before you build.

Venus stationed retrograde on October 3 at eight degrees of Scorpio and will not turn forward again until November 13. In that system Venus runs two things, and most people only talk about one of them. It runs love and it runs money.

Which is the oldest hint anybody ever gave about what waiting costs.
You do not have to believe a word of it to use the week. The dates are public and anybody can check them. Here is what is in it:
| • |
Monday through Friday, the first full week of a retrograde that runs forty one days. |
| • |
All week, the sun still in Libra, the sign of the scales, until the twenty third. |
| • |
Friday night, almost no moon, and the sky as dark as it gets this month. |
| • |
Saturday at 11:50 in the morning, the new moon at seventeen degrees of Libra. |
| • |
Saturday night, nothing in the sky at all, which is the point of a new moon. |
| • |
Sunday, a brand new cycle with its own ruler still running backward. |
Every tradition that reads this transit says the same two things. Do not start it this week. Go back over what you already have.
The plain version is this. A scale does not weigh anything until something gets set on it, and there is one ledger nobody has ever asked you to produce.
What the waiting cost you, in things that can be counted.
Not feelings. The things with numbers on them: hours, miles, dollars, a weekend kept open, a trip not taken, an application never sent because of where the job was.
This is not a list of mistakes. It is not a case against you. It is an inventory, and an inventory is what you take before you decide what to do with the stock.
Most of what is on that list is not gone. Hours are gone. The rest of it is still sitting there, unspent, because it was being held for somebody.
And if he surfaces in the next five weeks, which is what the whole month is built for, the ledger is the thing to have already done. Not so you can hand it to him. So you know what the next round would be spending.
Saturday the sky goes empty and starts over, and the only account that has to balance is the one with your name at the top.

One Sign to Watch

The house dream. It is one of the most commonly reported dreams there is: you are back inside somewhere you used to live, and the layout is wrong. A door where no door was. A room at the back nobody ever mentioned. People have read the house as the dreamer for a very long time, and the useful part is not the meaning. It is the detail. Note which room was added, and what was in it, before you get out of bed.

What is still sitting in your house unused because it was bought for two people?

Today’s Devotion: Tonight, take one sheet of paper and write three numbers on it: hours, dollars, and miles, for the last six months. Put the sheet in a drawer and look at it again on Saturday.
